The modern software stack is built on version control but the companies and systems powering it have remained largely unchanged for over 20 years. Git, while still exceptional for many use cases, has shown its limitations as the emergence of 3D assets has become more prevalent, not just in games, but in engineering, entertainment, and beyond. Outside of git, other historical solutions geared towards larger files are antiquated and create inefficiencies at every step of the process. Frustration is evident across online message boards and in conversations among developers.

Diversion is bringing to market a system that is cloud based, scalable, less complex, and intuitive for new users. Diversion intends to radically improve the efficiency of developers and artists. The result is a system where teams can work concurrently with fewer conflicts and focus on shipping, not fighting with their tools.

The opportunity for Diversion is twofold. First, Diversion addresses daily pain points for developers, reduces the number of production-halting problems, and increases the breadth of tools available via APIs. Second, Diversion has the ability to onboard artists and marketing professionals who have avoided version control due to its complexity. This has the ability to unify workflows under one system and expand the addressable market of version control software.

Our team is particularly excited to support the founders Sasha Medvedovsky and Egal Lazarev and their bottom-up approach to solving the problem. Having spent their careers as developers and founders solving complex problems, they have a unique understanding of the pain points that a cumbersome version control system can have on a business. Konvoy is proud to support Diversion as they lead the next generation of developer infrastructure.
