@MikeXHuang I'd find it interesting to read a regular cadence (newsletter?) of insights and opinions that already assume we're up to speed. Advanced level of content/research/thoughts.
There sure are a lot of "strategists" out there for metaverse and digital assets.
tbh, I have zero clue what they actually do. Maybe they should all collaborate on a white paper? equity research report?
It'd probably be better than pitching their "strategies" to buy side. ha
This is a brilliant acquisition by Unity. Wow.
@semil They’re not interconnected. Each are addressing siloed needs at this moment in their respective businesses.
In virtual worlds, I think people want to explore something new. I don't think people want a mirror of the "real world".
If I wanted to see the real world, I'd just walk outside (haha). I might explore parts of the world in VR, but that's a one-off use case.
The best platforms in gaming will continue to build something new, exciting, and novel.
Mimicking reality in virtual worlds is kind of futile, because it's actually just redundant.
Half of my inbox of newsletters has the word Metaverse.
Not just in the email but also in the title.
NFTs with actual utility (playability, earning, upgradable, etc) will be the ones that last and win.
Very few NFTs will become true stores of value, and those will likely be the first ones out of the gate (ie Cryptopunks).
@BillyMcFarlend If that’s true, that’s quite a bearish signal.
@jarroddicker Google sheets.
@tmphey_eth @rustlang makes sense, yea we're seeing quite a few gaming groups build with Rust.
@tmphey_eth @rustlang how many Rust devs do you think there are today? on the flip side, how many solidity devs?
@jakebrowatzke Check out @genopets and @SIPHERxyz
@cdixon And transferability.

@danprimack @SBF_FTX They’re listing some awesome projects right now, like @genopets
@divine_economy Haha, that wording might be the most clear I’ve read in a long time.
Aka: we will definitely share it, enter with eyes wide open here.
@divine_economy Just a thought: if people are freely willing to give up their data, isn’t that ok?
No one is forcing people to join.
In the genoverse you’ll have fun and be financially and socially incentivized to exercise. https://t.co/mAnSLdIT2n
We are thrilled to co-lead @genopets’ $8.3M round alongside @PanteraCapital .
This is a fantastic team building at the intersection of Play-to-Earn and “Move-to-Earn”.
Great things ahead! https://t.co/oyC3WbxdQY
@genopets @konvoyventures @PanteraCapital The honor is ours, thrilled to support such an incredible team and community. Excited for the coming Genoverse!
@RichLightShed Wonder if we will see it continue to go more the luxury (eg Alamo draft house). I would guess movies will have to come up with some sort of experience that is unique for people to go to the movie, like alpha access to the video game that will launch at the same time.
@BrantlyMillegan I love that you have a backup trampoline next to your main trampoline. So awesome.
@abcoathup @BrantlyMillegan Corn hole, a great traditional game in the US for people to play outside in the summer mainly.
@BoredElonMusk @Steam Couldn’t agree more. Huge misstep by the PC distribution kings.
@MarkBlacklock8 @IG_Galaxy Thanks for the info I’ll take a look!
@econosopher I believe Steam is a platform, mainly because of its distribution / marketing tools and its Steamworks product suite. They still own PC game discoverability.
This move by Steam definitely points that blockchain games will continue to thrive on mobile in the near term.
Steam blocking games that have items with real world value (e.g. NFTs / Crypto) is fighting the inevitable outcome of the future of games. Open platforms will win in the end and this is a strategic misstep by them.
@TylerJewell’s 2021 developer led landscape is worth a read. Especially enjoyed the product led growth section and how it beats out traditional sales & marketing strategies for devs. Devs want self-serve, “do not suffer fools and will only pay for value.” https://t.co/gRCDVFwLDs
@j1mmyeth @ABigThingBadly Agreed. People primarily bought loot because they wanted to flip it. It was closer to art than a real in game asset.
@Casagrande_Jose @j1mmyeth @TheSandboxGame Just land isn’t a game though, you need to have something occurring on that land to get people engaged. Think of Simcity, Rollercoaster tycoon, etc. those were fun because of the games on top of the land. Many of these land projects are years away from real gameplay.
RT @Brett_FTXUS: more upcoming nft collection listings -- will be live soon!

@carry1st is bringing @TiltingPoint's SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off game to players across the entire African continent. There is growth opportunity for both strong existing IP (like SpongeBob) and new local games across African markets.
@cagyjan1 I like AoE better but Civilization is awesome. So much strategy. Chess to the nth degree
5/5 - There's a greater opportunity for gaming co's to leverage influencer mrkting. However, this needs to be a dedicated strategy and not an afterthought to a company’s marketing budget.
They need to pick the right format, the right influencers, and the right KPI's to monitor.
Thrilled to be partnering with @AlonGrinshpoon @korengri and Ben at @_echo3D_ as they build the infrastructure for the 3D future of our web https://t.co/QGn1lN6gmP
